Father’s Day is a special time that comes around every year, when we get to take a moment to show Dad just how much he means to us. Maybe he taught you how to ride your bike, how to throw a football, or even how to invest. His love and care for you is...

Before the days of social media, a bad photograph was just a bad photograph. It could be thrown away, swiftly deleted and never worried about again. Now, with the existence of Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, there is no escaping the embarrassment of an unflattering photo! With friends and family constantly snapping photographs for their social media accounts, it is not uncommon to wake up to find you've been tagged in a cringe-worthy picture post, displayed for all the world to see. We've all had someone take less-than-becoming photos of us at some point and, despite our subtle hints or blatant protest, post them on social media for everyone's eyes. If you dread taking photographs with others in the fear that you won't be happy with the result, here are a few simple tricks that may increase your photo- taking confidence and stop you from running the other way every time someone pulls out their camera.
- Know your angles. Everyone has a 'good side'. Figure out which angle is most flattering for you and pose accordingly in group photos.
- Go for a more natural makeup look. Foundation that is too heavy or not the right shade will make your features appear flat and distract from your true beauty. Lightly emphasis the eyes and lips and use a sheer highlight and contour powder on the cheekbones for a healthy glow. Lipstick can also help you look good.
- Remember that dark-colored makeup can age you, so avoid brown or deep red lipsticks and heavy blush. Set your look with a light mattifying powder to avoid excess shine in photos.
- Smile! A smile that is natural and not forced will always look best. If you can't think of something funny before the picture is taken, smile or laugh a little. Happiness is always beautiful!
- Enlist the help of a professional!: When in doubt, consult a pro. Skilled professional photographers know exactly how to capture their clients so that a perfect picture is possible every time. Their knowledge of angles, lighting and posing can prove to be infinitely helpful when trying to capture flattering, high-quality photographs.

If you're a proud pet owner, you know that your favorite furry friends are without a doubt an important part of the family. Pets seem to tie the whole family together, providing us with laughter, happiness and comfort during the good times and the bad. Their unconditional love and loyalty are truly remarkable, which explains why so many pet owners wish to celebrate their beloved little companions every chance they get. This tradition is especially popular in the Hamptons, where you see families with their dogs year round, taking walks together around town on sunny days. It really is a heart-warming sight.
Some of the best family portraits are those that feature the entire extended family – including the family pet! Including your dog in the photoshoot can offer some of the best candid shots and countless opportunities for great photos. Pets add something special to the photo session – a certain element of warmth and humor. They bring a playful energy and add an extra element of fun to the experience. The kids will love posing with their favorite animal and looking back on these photographs when they are older.
We love our pets and want to remember them forever, just as we do with our friends and family. Next time you are planning a shoot for the family or looking to create beautiful seasonal holiday cards, remember to include your family pet. For an extra special treat, have some pictures taken of just your pets. I am great with animals and I know exactly how to incorporate them into your photographs. These prints can be hung as artwork in the home to create a warm, loving atmosphere or featured on special greeting cards to send to all your family members and friends. Remember - Your pet is a family member.
Vacations can provide us with some of the finest lasting memories. What could be better than getting away for a while with the ones you love most? With so many exotic and beautiful landscapes for us to explore across the globe, the vacations we take together provide us with unique opportunities to see and do new things. We are also able to become even closer, taking delight in each other's company while basking in a refreshing change of scenery. Whether you're traveling with your entire family or embarking on a well-deserved romantic getaway without the kids, you'll undoubtedly want to capture every moment. After all, the best part of returning home after an amazing trip together is sharing your travels with all your friends and loved ones!
The scenic backdrops and exciting new experiences that travel destinations offer to create countless opportunities for gorgeous photographs to be captured – making it quite difficult not to spend a considerable portion of your time reaching for your camera rather than relishing in the present moment. Have you ever felt like you spent more time snapping photos on vacation than actually enjoying yourself? Do you worry so much about preserving every wonderful moment that it interferes with the experience? Are you often the one taking the photographs, leaving you missing from most of your vacation photos? There's always the option of asking a stranger to take the picture for you, but by the time they figure out how to use your camera and quickly snap the pic, you're often left with a stiff and unflattering photo.
You shouldn't have to choose between fully enjoying yourself or preserving once-in-a-lifetime memories. When you're miles away from your obligations at a luxurious location, you shouldn't have a care in the world. This is why many of my clients invite me to travel with them across the globe, some have their own private jets. I devote myself to capturing every special moment so that they can be cherished time and time again. Utilizing years of experience, a trained eye, and a strong artistic vision, candid vacation moments are instantly transformed into breathtaking works of art, appearing even better than you remembered! I know the best way how to make my clients feel comfortable, relaxed and ready for some fun – effortlessly snapping photographs that will show you in your best light. You will love sharing these beautiful, top-of-the-line photographs with your friends and family. With colors so crisp and vibrant, these high-quality photos will have you feeling as if you've drifted back in time, re- experiencing each treasured moment. These incredible photographs can be hung as artwork in the home or used to make elegant prestige albums that can be passed on for generations.

Though summer has come to an end and long days at the beach may now be behind us, there are still many opportunities for festive family fun on Long Island. The changing of the seasons brings us colorful leaves to play in, pumpkins to pick, cider to drink and hay bales to climb, evoking a sense of wonder and excitement in children and adults alike. See who can find the largest apple and award the winner with a small prize. At the end of the day, make caramel apples together using a simple at-home kit from your local grocery store.

Go Pumpkin Picking: Make a day out of it and attend a local farm with many other attractions. Hank's Pumpkintown in Watermill offers corn mazes, wagon rides, pedal cart races, animals, games, education stations and more. As a safer and less messy alternative to pumpkin carving, paint your pumpkins with the kids and put them out on display!
Homemade Halloween Costumes and Decorations: Spend an afternoon making festive arts and crafts with the kids to use as decorations around your home. Let them unleash their creativity by putting together their own Halloween costumes this year.

Candy Kitchen – Est. 1925 The oldest diner in the Hamptons, and a staple of the Bridgehampton community, Candy Kitchen has become more of an experience in itself than simply a restaurant. is a longtime favorite of locals and tourists. The Candy Kitchen experience begins with its appearance; a nostalgic, classical vertical sign that reads "Breakfast - SODA - Luncheon" in neon lettering, atop a charming blue and white overhang, which gives any passerby the experience of being transported back to their favorite adolescent luncheonette. The red, white and blue of the Candy Kitchen has become a landmark of the east end, and the diner-classic menu has been filling the stomachs of locals and tourists since 1925. Its simple, diner-classic menu has something for everyone, even for the pickiest little fingers. The service is fast and friendly, the food is served fresh from the kitchen, and the menu won't bite your bank account. The only thing you won't find there is scarcity, as many families have made it a routine to bring their children to Candy's to enjoy the food and atmosphere. Speaking of families, if you spare a moment to look at the walls, you'll see that they're lined with a number of different family portraits, captured by Lucille Khornak, a seasoned portrait specialist. A passionate professional who has experienced life on both sides of the camera, Lucille has developed a unique ability to go beyond the stereotypical "Kodak" moment. No matter who she's photographing, Lucille can capture their natural personality in one still shot, irregardless of age or gender. The family is your work of art, and you're the artist – so why not showcase it? Oh, but only after you've finished your homemade ice cream flavor from Candy Kitchen.
Bobby Van's – Est. 1969
Every town needs a good steakhouse, right? Enter Bobby Van's, the Main Street cornerstone renowned for its fantastic steak and fresh seafood. Bobby Van's has been a part of the Bridgehampton community since the summer of 1969, when Bobby Van himself opened up his steakhouse's doors to the public. Known for its top of the line service, fabulously cooked food, and lively atmosphere, Bobby Van's is where you go to eat like a king. During the summer months, when the sun shines bright over the east end, diners at Bobby Van's can park themselves at one of the many outdoor tables beneath the maroon Bobby Van's awning. Bobby Van's takes pride in serving the finest Prime USDA beef, freshly caught seafood and shellfish, and carefully chosen ingredients that'll leave you stuffed for the evening, but craving more. Bobby Van's is hardly Bridgehampton exclusive; you can find a Bobby Van's at East 54th St, West 50th St., 25 Broad St., Park Avenue, and Times Square, as well as two Washington, D.C. restaurants and a JFK airport location, and the takeout spot BV's Burger – the tastiest takeout you'll get near Times Square.
The Golden Pear Cafe – Est. 1996
Breakfast, as they say, is the most important meal of the day, and when enjoying breakfast, there's no better way to do it tun in style. Enter the Golden Pear, the award-winning cafe that personifies the charm and exuberance that only the east end can bring. A beloved spot for your daily cup of coffee, taking a seat outside offers endless people watching opportunities and the chance to catch up with friends and neighbors in an easy going atmosphere. Deliciously prepared meals are a staple of Golden Pear. Try a sandwich, wrap, or salad with garden fresh veggies and tasty meats, one of their many soups, and try a mouth-watering pastry from their on-premises bakery. (You may only go for one, but you may leave with a dozen!)
Pierre's – Est. 2000
One of the more recent additions to the Main Street BH lineup of eateries, Pierre's quaint presence has all the charm of French bistros. Pierre's specializes in locally caught seafood and is open for breakfast thru dinner year-round. The menu varies on the season, constantly changing so your taste buds never grow bored. Famous for its fresh baked pastries and seafood dishes are complimented by the unique lighting – swathed in sunlight by day, with elegant, atmospheric lighting by night. Its intimacy is paralleled by its class; this is a must-do on your checklist of restaurants to browse this summer at the Hamptons.
