By now, you’ve all probably heard a lesson or two about what it takes to be happy, successful, or even in love. You’ve read about the Three Keys to Success in Life, and every other possible related article with all the steps in the world. Among all those, what do you think the core focus, or common denominator has always been? Was it all about writing out endless lists and to-do’s, or, creating a new goal every so often? Maybe you noticed a pattern of meditative suggestions, or some other form of exercise, practice or ritual. Any number of these things could be beneficial to the right person, but the one thing that drives a truly happy and successful life, is the power of positivity.
Where does positivity begin? Studies have shown that positivity should ideally begin when you are born, however, whenever you choose to embrace it, the power of positivity begins right at home. Take the above image for example. This photo tells a story of two siblings enjoying each other’s company with the warm embrace of pure joy. There is no doubt that these two grew up together with countless ups and downs, but what this image captures is the love that gives them the strength to live on. “Every parent wants to do the best they can in raising their children. Most parents will take the negatives they had from their own childhood and adapt new behaviors in raising their children to eliminate their negative memories. ‘A family that plays together stays together’ is a phrase that I always remember growing up as a child. All work and no play does not make for a happy or positive family environment. Spending time with the children and bonding as a family unit is a positive reinforcement for your children. To take that one step further, documenting those special moments of togetherness and putting them on a family wall for your children to see as a positive reinforcement helps to add those positive visuals to their brain.” -Lucille Khornak
Think of it this way, “A baby comes into this world without any preconceived notions about anything and no judgements about about people. It is through their parents, siblings and friends that they learn to have judgements about situations, circumstances and people.” We understand this with the scientific study of mirror neurons, which we’ve learned are responsible for how we mimic the actions of others, or instinctively understand the physical or emotional reactions other people have to their environment or circumstance. “So upbringing and what the child is surrounded with, who they surround themselves with and their interactions will all add to how their brain will think and how it will function. Let's add positive to these delicate brains by speaking positively, being positive and showing support for what they want to do and become at that moment in time.” - Lucille Khornak
As for you and I, the power of positivity requires a conscious decision, to constantly choose happiness and health for ourselves. This affects every area of our lives, and when you think about yourself personally, you might say that you would like to look back at each moment of your life and see how you made the most of every experience. Here at Lucille Khornak Studios, we believe in the power of documenting experiences of love, joy, and peace, as the mental and emotional impact of these images is unprecedented.
