Are You Living?

"It is far better to be living, than to simply be alive."

As a professional photographer, it is my responsibility to capture the moments my clients will cherish for a lifetime. To do this, I need to make sure they are filled with the energy it takes to create those special moments. This past summer, I was honored as the featured photographer for KDHamptons, and I was asked about how I get children to photograph well. Now of course, there’s a secret recipe I use to help my subjects #getlucilled, but the truth is that in order to capture a good time, you have to actually be having a good time.

This month at the studio, we are drawing inspiration from the power of color. This week’s color is red, and I thought I’d share some of my favorite moments from the archives. Perhaps they might stir up some excitement as you read and view below!

Look at these beautiful sisters. Just a little shimmer of red can put a smile on your face. I like to think the red represents the happiness they share.

There is nothing more powerful than the family unit. This family gathered with one of Dad’s most prized possessions. Isn’t she a beauty?

Red is the second distinguishable and most exciting color known to man. Follow @lucillekhornakphotography to keep the excitement alive in your life!

We learned that the color red had the power to make us feel more alive! What are you doing to feel more alive this year? Tell me all about it in the comments below, or share your favorite photos with the color red, and #getlucilled!

Love, LK
